European Month of Photography Berlin
EMOP Berlin – European Month of Photography 2016 / October 1 – 31, 2016,
The organisers claim that they have organised 150 exhibitions all over Berlin.
It was an excellent opportunity to see so many exhibitions in a few days covering such a big range of styles and photographers (students of the photography univercity in Berlin to exhibitions of Berenice Abbott and Gordon Parks).
I only picked two artists out of many very interesting:
a. The russian Dmitry Lookianov, with Instant Tomorrow. He creates simple pictures which can tranfer his ideas. One has to be very talented to manage that. The exhibition happened in a small bookstore specialized in photography 25books. At any certain moment, this bookstore proposes a selection of 25 books only, that's it!
b. The German Andreas Lang. Actually there were two exhibitions with his photos: (i) The amazed silence, landscapes that showed that he masters the technique (style, grain, patterns, etc) - at the ALFRED EHRHARDT STIFTUNG, and (ii) The CAMEROON AND CONGO exhibition at the Deutsches Historisches Museum. I didn't know that these were german territories once.
